Today Is Where My Book Begins.

This is a verse from my favorite song (right now): Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield. It inspires me to write and today, I have begun. I'm writing a short fictional story called Furlough and I might post some of it here soon. We'll see.

Now if she'd only write a song called Unpacking, i might actually get it done.

why don't YOU write a song called unpacking.....and sing it on video!

(I haven't watched yet. won't i feel silly if that's what you're doing on today's YouTube post!!)

ha. yeah imagine me sitting around writing a song about unpacking instead of actually unpacking. did i mention that i HATE unpacking? but i'm doing ok with it. i'm actually finding a place to put things. that sounds simple and obvious but if you'd ever seen my old place, you'd understand. i'm determined to cure my clutter habits.

good luck w/ the clutter. i have that problem also.

ok, well now I feel really silly. i really didn't realize that there was going to be more singing (with instruments to boot) on this one. once i re-read the first sentence of the post it all made sense.

i like that song, but i never knew the words. that's one of those songs that comes on in the gym. it's a catchy tune but i didn't know there were meaningful lyrics. i'll have to investigate further.

on your next video i expect to see less still-packed boxes...

no need to feel silly. it was a good guess based on what i wrote :)

interestingly, my son Marius turned me on to that song. we'd be in the car and it would come on the radio and he'd say "turn it up, mom!" so then i started getting into it. it grabbed me from there...

the boxes...lol yeah. i'm working on that. i swear! :)

which one is Marius?

I read an article in the January Oprah magazine that made me think of you. It was about a lady who ended up paying some woman to help her unclutter her house. It involved a dumpster...there was crying and the whole 9. There is a room in my house that could use the attention of the woman from the article & the aforementioned dumpster.

Marius is the younger one.

yeah i saw that Oprah show too. Their clutter was out.of.control. i never got that bad. i was embarassed FOR them. i can't believe they allowed cameras in. but i guess that embarassment propelled them to do better. maybe nothing else would have worked.

got it!

well, i hope the unpacking is going well (or perhaps even over...)

did you meet the mayor yet?
