No, Boo.
That right there on the left is mochi. For the uninitiated, that would be a Japanese dessert consisting of ice cream delicately wrapped in a rice-based soft "shell". Lovely on any occassion except for when there is a chocolate souffle begging for my attention. I succumbed. On my next trip to Nobu Next Door, there will be another sashimi salad and a tall chocolate parfait waiting for me...sigh...

My friend from NYC loves this Nobu place. Now that you've given it your stamp of approval, I'll have to go for sure the next time I'm up there.
oh yes. their hot and cold dishes are amazing. but just don't bother getting sushi...it's much better at other places like Sushi Samba or Sushi Yasuda.
Do you read www.rachelstavern.com ?
If not, you should check her out today. I gave you a shout out on your Brittney Spears rant.
i checked out Rachel's blog and it was nice...i love the piece she wrote on the black section in book stores...and thanks for shouting me out :)
yes, boobla.
in the supermarket last night, i realised that mochi was an ice cream remix of edam cheese. it had the same shape, the same chewy outer shell, w/ the only difference being the distinctive textures of the cheese and ice cream (@ opposite ends of the dairy spectrum).
on tha strenf, i copped some edam, but it wasn't the same.
ha. nice :)
hmmmm...edam is 'made' backwards so maybe it's really made cheese as in fake cheese? i know that's stupid...i can't help look for some hidden meaning in stuff like that
anyway there's a nice ice cream shop in chinatown that sells mochi...if you ever come to town again, i'll take you
ever?
c'mon, mama.
sorry man but my outlook is on some 'keep hope sedated'. don't tell Jesse Jackson i said that...
